Welcome back, CMBC members! This month’s crafting activity is Coconut’s Valentine’s Day Treats. Coconut the “Rescue Pup/Mystery Mutt” enjoys celebrating Valentine’s Day with the person she loves the most: her Mimi! Mimi and Coconut’s favorite way to celebrate this holiday is by making treat bags to share with others. You can make your own to share with your valentine!
What You'll Need:
Coloring pencils or markers
Scissors
Glue
Fun-size or small candy
Directions:
Click here to download your activity sheet. This activity requires you to print out one sheet per treat bag.
Grab either your markers or your coloring pencils and color your activity sheet.
In the square under Coconut, write a little message or the name of the person you plan to give the treat bag to.
Once you are done coloring, gatefold the activity sheet (refer to the image below).
Note: Use the point where the heart edges touch as a guideline. When you are done, the halved hearts should overlap.

Press out your fold creases.
Take your glue and seal the bottom of your treat bag.
Then, glue the overlapping paper ends (refer to the image below).
With scissors, trim the top of your bag by using the heart’s outline as a guide.
Take your small or fun-sized candy and fill your treat bag, but not too much!
Note: The bag should be able to hold up to three or four pieces of candy, depending on how small or how big the candy is.
Now, use your glue to seal the top part of the treat bag.
Once the glue dries, deliver your Coconut’s Valentine's Day Treats and surprise someone with a little something sweet!
